On most Case-IH planters when using heavy-duty openers, the gauge wheel will contact the seed opener hub. This interference causes premature bearing and hub failure, particularly at deep planting depths or rough no-till conditions. MD series gauge wheels with a specially designed inner rim will prevent the wheel from hitting the hub on your heavy-duty opener blades which means less downtime due to bearing failure.
